The Adam Pulling Memorial Scholarship Fund is holding its second annual Texas Hold”em Poker Tournament Saturday, November 25.
Adam Pulling is a brave kid who died of cancer two years ago at the age of 19.
Adam’’s father, Mike Pulling, said that the poker tournament will benefit the scholarship fund that was established to honor the memory of his son, who was an avid Texas Hold”em poker player.
Adam was a Hackett Catholic Central High School graduate, Western Michigan University student, Eagle Scout and American Youth Soccer Organization referee. He also always set aside some time to play poker with his friends.
“People don”t have to feel that they have to come to gamble,” Mike Pulling said of the poker tournament. However, should the players dole out the $50 buy-in, even the less experienced ones can be guaranteed that there is a helping hand available, as players tend to help each other get through the game.
“Last year it was a very community kind of thing,” he said.
This year’’s event promises to be more exciting, because of the new equipment: 20 brand new poker tables, 20,000 poker chips and 40 fresh decks of cards, all donated by poker pro Daniel Negreanu. The FullContactPoker star reportedly donated the poker paraphernalia because he thought it was for a good cause.
“I was just hoping for a few chips. … We were just awestruck when he came back and said he wanted to finance the whole thing,” Pulling said.
